1. Our Commitment
East LA Tax believes everyone deserves a fair, dignified, and convenient way to file taxes and engage with our services. We continuously work to improve the accessibility and usability of eastlatax.com so that it can be enjoyed by visitors of all abilities.
2. Standards We Follow
Our goal is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the W3C, and compliance with applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act, and the California Disabled Persons Act.
3. Site Accessibility Features
- Skip-to-content link at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- Semantic landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) for assistive-technology navigation.
- Logical heading hierarchy and descriptive link text.
- Color contrast designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA minimums.
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
- Alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images marked aria-hidden.
- Form fields with explicit labels, error messages, and clear validation.
- Fully responsive layout that scales from 320px wide up to large desktops.
- Respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting.
- Bilingual English / Spanish content with the page language exposed to assistive tech.
- Content reflows correctly when zoomed up to 200% without loss of functionality.
4. Assistive Technology
The Site is tested with current versions of major screen readers (VoiceOver on macOS / iOS, NVDA and JAWS on Windows, TalkBack on Android) and with keyboard-only navigation. We also test with high-contrast mode and 200% browser zoom.
5. Third-Party Content
Some elements of the Site rely on third-party services (for example, an anti-spam challenge or an embedded map). We work to choose accessible vendors, but we do not directly control their interfaces. If you encounter a barrier in third-party content, please let us know so we can help or work with the vendor.
6. Requesting Accommodations
If you need a reasonable accommodation to access our services — including in-person assistance, large-print documents, an interpreter, or remote document handling — please contact us. We are happy to work with you and there is no charge for accessibility assistance.
7. Feedback & Contact
If you experience an accessibility barrier on this Site or have suggestions for improvement, please tell us. We aim to respond within five business days.
